Kerry, There is NO danger to using I-R with steroids. The reason the instructions for I-R say to go off steroids 7 days beforehand is to ensure the I-R is fully effective, since steroids can lower immune response. Lucy was on steroids when she got I-R, and Mike Lees, the vet from Ohio who wrote the article on the website about I-R, said he sometimes uses the two in conjunction. There is no bad interaction between them. Lucy was on 7.5 mg/day of pred when she got the I-R, and it only took two .25 ml doses of I-R to kick her URI completely,. and it was mostly gone after the first dose. Cindy, Thanks for the info..I think I wish now that I had already used the IR, but since he is on steroids now, we can't use it..until he has been off them for at least 7 days..So I don't know what to do about it now, but wait to see the specialist on Tues..
