Just to add info—Roicy is a ‘rabies’ hold facility.  It is not a shelter per se & has almost no room to hold any animals for anything but legal minimum period.  It is very high kill so anyone interested must contact the people listed at the bottom asap!  They are really struggling and are desperate for any rescue groups to take the loads of animals they get every week.  The group of volunteers working w. Roicy are desperate for fosters for dogs and cats of all ages—all the fosters in the area are totally overloaded  Unfortunately, Katrina has just added more of a load on all shelters in the Gulf Coast and fosters/rescue groups are simply running out of room for the postKatrina newborns, for the owner turn ins, and for the strays still out on the streets (many of whom were previously owned pets who were lost).

Notes: This is the prettiest kitten in the room, so if anyone gets adopted, this one will. However, adoptions are down, and rescues are full. Please come down before she is adopted, but consider adopting one of the plain kitties as well...one who does not have the change that this one does. They will be great fun together, and you will feel really good about saving a life.

To make sure that this sweet cat is safe, come to the shelter before 5 PM on Monday, July 17. The shelter will make every effort to hold over, but this is a very small facility with limited cat cages. The unwanted animals come in each day, and there are many animals in stray hold awaiting their turn to go to adoption. The kittens get more time, but they often get sick if they stay too long.

IF YOU CAN FOSTER THIS CAT FOR AN AREA RESCUE GROUP FOR A MINIMUM OF 60 DAYS, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT [EMAIL PROTECTED] YOU MUST BE WITHIN A SHORT DRIVE OF LAFAYETTE, BATON ROUGE OR NOLA.
