Thanks for the information. Guess I will be on for awhile longer. They brought Tom back in three a half hours. His wife looked it up on the internet and he said that his sister is taking chemo treatments and is not suppose to be around a leukemia cat, so he didn't want to take the risk.

Lisa,
Sorry to hear about Akira. I hope seh's doing better. Her story inspired
me, and gave me the hope for my felv+ cat. I will surely keep Akira in my
thoughts/prayers.

IYes, it is amazing. that is the most lame excuse I ever heard. I made sure that I told them to bring Tom back to me if it didn't work out and that I would call and check on him in a couple days and drop by to see him once in awhile. He was a little stressed when he came back. He was really hungry
Thanks Kerry,
No, their yard was not cat proof. I am beginning to think it is meant for him to be here. I love Tom to death, but I aslo worry about my 4 non-positive ones gettting felv. I just hope pray that they don't. I would never forgive myself.
There is a vet here that has a lot of clients
Barbara,
I don't know why your vet would give a felv shot every 6 months.
That's really over-kill. You're right, it is too much for their
systems. From all I've read and been told once a year is MORE than
sufficient. If you are concerned about whether they are protected, you

Lisa,
I am so sorry that Akira is leaving
you. I think your decision, to let her leave on her own terms, was
the most compassionate and wisest one. Just be with her, comfort her and
let her know how much you care.

Umm, yes -- I've heard lame excuses like this before. Feline Leukemia
is not transmittable to humans. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever

sickness.

Couldn't help but chuckle at that one. You are right. That is an excellent way to look at it. That is allI would need is for him to get cancer on top of his felv. I wish I would have thought to tell them that and to get him back as fast as they could.
