Hi guys,
Whe I came home yesterday, I noticed Mickey's right ear was bent over
flat. I thought it was a temporary thing that he could/would fix
himself, but that's not the case. It's still the same today. Poor fellow
has been rubbing it like crazy. Anyone got any experience of this? He's

In your message below, you talked about using epogen and prenisolone for
anemiaone of my other FeLV+ cat's RBC was last tested (2 weeks ago) to
be about 8%. CW is a very small cat, about 6-7 years old and has had FeLV+
since she was a kitten. She still acts pretty much the same as always
Give her lots of Love from Dixie and me + some probiotics..especially if
she can get them from a good yogurt.Dixie loves yogurt and it is perfect
for mixing some things in.
Blessings. She is a wonderful and lucky little girl.

Sherry,
My thoughts prayers are w/ you Genevieve.
She is on the best drug possible that there is right now for URI, (Zithromax),
so it sounds like your vet knows the importance of aggressive treatment for
URI, espeically when it comes to the cat being felv+.
Is she congested?
Are you able
She ate very little around 2 and drank a pretty good amount of water at the
same time. Now her fever is high at 105.4. she is congested but I am keeping it
clean.I too have felt pretty sick all day today too.Very dizzy and nauseous. Not
a good day here.thanks for the prayers

Transfusions can vary a great deal, I've heard of people paying
anywhere from $150.00 to $500.00. I think for Bailey it was around
$200.00, the epogen for us was $300.00 but that was a higher dose and
quantity than most vets prescribe which would have lasted us about 6
months if Bailey
Sally,
Don't feel bad, fleas are particulairly devilish this year due to the rains.
I would give Junoir a flea treatment, either Advantage or Frontline ( not
revolution, doesn't seem to help much for fleas in my opinion).
Once he is treated, the fleas should begin to die due to biting him.
Junior has this as part of his condition.
He has hematomas in both ears. The vet does not want to stress him by
draining them, so they are that way all the time. He has no infection or ear
mites. It must feel funny to him. He looks like a Scottish Fold kitty. His
ears are real fat. He does like
Kitties sure do LOVE a good ear massage.
LOTS of nerve endings in their ears...

As Cleopatra lay in state,
What protocol do you guys usually follow for your positive cats (who are
exclusively indoor, of course) and flea treatments? I'm sure with the FeLV,
flea bites are even more dangerous. Should I be treating them with
Frontline/Advantage every month year round, monthly during the summer
Hi Susan
Thanks, we have been terribly dry this summer maybe that is why the fleas
took so long to show up. He sleeps on the floor or on Eric's bed. I had to
change the bed linens this morning as Eric is sick. I already treated all
the cats except for Daisy she is too squirmy to get a hold of. I
Susan,
By the time I would be able to get the Capstar the advantage should have
killed the fleas already on Junior. I find it works in 24 hours as well.
Michael, I am not sure. Fleas can hitch hike on you, but I would think the
risk is fairly small. I hate using chemicals indiscriminately or I

I was getting ready to go to bed, but thought I would answer part of the
question. Baytril is a broad spectrum antibiotic and will kill the good
bacteria in his gut, You need to get some probiotic is him. Yogurt w/ live
cultures. Forti Flora, you can get from the vet or a probiotic from a
vitamin
Will try the yogurt—I have one cat who will come in leaps and bounds whenever
he hears the sound of that yogurt container opening---lets see how Romeo does…

It would be really really tough to get anything in his mouth. The only times
