Beth
So sorry to hear of the loss of your little Boo. How kind of you to care
for her and give her the best life possible.

May your love for each other bring you peace.

My foster Boo lost her battle with FeLV last night. It was discovered she
had lymphoma. I still have 4 other FeLV babies, including Boo's brother,
Tab.
Boo was so shy with the other cats, but just loved attention from her
human mommy.

She left way too soon.

Re: [Felvtalk] Whimsy update (happy news)

2011-01-04 Thread Beth
I used to take one of mine out under a tree just sit with her let her see
the birds sniff the air. Made it less stressful to give her her meds. After
she passed I looked around in the grass to see if I could find some of her fur.
My neighbors probably thought I was crazy rummaging through the lawn.

Blessings to you and to Whimsy.  When it was time for Ebony to leave this
world, I took him out in the snow and let himsit/lay in the cold.  This is what
he wanted and we froze until the vet got there on New Year's Eve
nightMiddletown Animal Clinic rocks.  Taking a very old, sick cat out into
the cold and snow made no sense to anyone but the two of us.  You have a heart
connection with Whimsy and I am so glad it worked.

After a stressful, scary week, Whimsy, aka the Whimzinator, is back and
better than ever.  I knew all he wanted was to go out, so relunctantly, I
took him in the yard with me for an hour in the cold, and he was thrilled.
he sniffed, walked around, and then ran back in. He was satisfied, had his
fill.  He literally came back to life in front of my eyes.  He hasn't wanted
to go out since, and we don't have any plans to do so.  Just to build his
enclosure.  It was against everything I believe is right, but I felt him
telling me it was the only way he'd eat again.  I really felt he would die if
he didn't get to do this.  The pepcid injections helped too - but right after
he ran in, he ate again, after barely eating for 6 days.  He's now back to
where he was calorie wise, and is even more loving and cuddly...

 go figure...

thank you everyone for your help.  And thank you for the suggestions on
nausea - i think he got a sour tummy from being upset, and created a big
problem for himself.  your suggestions made me remember i could get pepcid
injections (since we can't pill him) and this was great.
