I supplement my cats' Blue Buffalo kibble with cooked pieces of meat
(chicken/pork/beef/turkey). That's all I do for mine right now.

Re: [Felvtalk] Food supplements for Miss Eleanor

2011-06-08 Thread Natalie
I assume that she is FeLV+?
I took my two FeLV+ boyz to the vet on Monday for IFA test - we are ecstatic
(so was the vet)that their gums and teeth are in excellent shape, especially
since they are FeLV+ and over 4 yrs old. I believe it's because we give all
FIV/FeLV cats in this household nothing but regular food, CoQ10, some
Vitamin C, apple cider vinegar in water, and Nickers Biocoat!

I get the GNC 100 mg vegetarian formula because it's in powder
form/capsules. Then I open it up and put 1/2 capsule for each cat into the
food; dosage for cats is between 35-50 mg. It doesn't taste of anything.

I just wrote about CoQ10 dosage.
Apple cider vinegar, start with a drop or two in water, slowly build up to
more over time. AC Vinegar is a miracle food! I hate plain water, so I
always put a dash of ACV into the bottle - great thirst quencher and great
for arthritis and so much more

One of the local rescue group have eleven 5 week old kittens (their moms
were put back as TNR) - the kittens are all healthy.
The rescue group was going to euthanize all the kittens yesterday as they
felt that, they would not be able to adopt them out.
but a feral cat/TNR group in town offered to take these kittens temporary
in an effort to try to find a home for each one of them - I know it sound
like a mission impossilbe - I strongly believe that, if we try hard
enough, we can find a good home for everyone.

But I am hoping that someone in the groups may have some ideas or may be
able to adopt/forester one or some of these kittens -
We just don't want them to get killed as they are so very healthy.

Please contact me personally if you have any idea/offers/suggestions at

And please do feel free to forward this message to anyone.

Re: [Felvtalk] FW: Despartely seeking for help/advise - Felk Kittens - OT

2011-06-08 Thread Natalie
Maybe it's just that the rescue group feels that kittens are more work at a
shelter than adult cats! Around here, shelter hate pregnant mothers because
after the birth, the time until kittens are adoptable is too long for them!
many pregnant cats are immediately euthanized (killed) for that reason, and
shelter employees are scrambling to find rescue groups to take them.

We always hold cats when they are euthanized; I know people who don't, and
their excuses are because they are soul mates..DUH! If you're soul mates,

Some people just hand them over at the hospital and leaveI don't
