Any info on urinary incontinence in the FELV pos cat? My cat Chloe is running
a low grade temp since night before last. Doc gave pill form of anti b (said
doesn't have it in the liquid). I gave one last night along with a bite to my
finger! I noticed a trail of urine on the floor on her
Chiming in on this one -- I'd have her tested for urinary crystals, just to be
sure there's no FLUTD. If there are no crystals and there is no medical reason
for the leaking urine, it could be behavioral.
How old is the cat?

Yes, I had a cat once who was doing this. She had a blockage had to have
surgery. It's a serious thing.

There is a yahoo group for FLUTD cats. Great group. Now that I'm FeLV free, I
have a FLUTD boy (Travis). Lucky me.

People are so stupid - after adopting out cats for 20 years, I cannot get
over it.
Once poor Barnaby is out of there, they should cement that gap so it
doesn't happen again. Can food and water be placed into that crawlspace?

A sign of stomatitis is usually pawing at the mouth when eating.

All the Hill's Science Diet foods are absolute junk! Look at the
ingredients - you can do better reading labels on better quality foods, and
get better food for less. Instead of A-D, to mix with meds and use syringe,

Beth, have you gone to the house and called Barnaby? Maybe he will
recognize your voice. Recently I adopted a semi-feral kitten that escaped
outside (never open cage door outside to pet cute kitty, duh). The woman
feeding the kitten had to come over and catch the kitten, the kitten came

o.k. No pawing at the mouth. She wants to eat but just doesn't when the food is put down. She is crying when I bring the plate over but then doesn't eat. She is relatively acting okay - just the low grade fever and now the goopy sort of urine or something leaking out. Vet app today. Thanks
I'll look into the FLUTD today when at vet and on line for more info. Thank
you all for your info.

Great news!
Please have them close up that gap so it can't happen again!
Hope Barnaby is OK!

Did the vet say whether she was retaining urine in the bladder? Did he express
the bladder?
With most pill meds you can break it up and put it in a 1 cc syringe with no
needle, draw up a tiny amount of water, and let is dissolve. I routinely
liquify meds.

Hi - Vet said it is colitis, not urinary. Said she may have eaten something
bad. Changed the meds to liquid anti b. (Not much better as she is a
fighter!) No x-ray yet - he will wait to see how she does on the anti b.
Thanks for the tip on the pill form - good idea for the future. I
Are you sure he did not say cystitis? That would make more sense from your
description of symptoms than colitis.

No, he examined her thoroughly and said it is coming from the anus and showed
me! Some dripped on the exam table - secretions. It is more like a gel
secretion. I mistook it for urine at first. He said def colitis, that maybe
she had eaten something to upset her colon. Gave oral liquid anti b
