Any ideas please Bramble has Calici again after catching it from Buddy as I mentioned last week - his nose is ulcerated and I'm sure his throat is too as he is really hungry and wants his food but can't seem to eat much of it. I've tried mashing it for him but I think his throat is too sore.

Chilling food sounds like it might help make it easier on poor Bramble's throat. Blending, or liquefying might help. He may need you to assist-feed him to help him get started. There's a recipe for liver shake, but I would substitute the tomato/V8 juice, (maybe plain chicken broth?), it

1. Get your vet to give him Immuno-regulin, which you can order cheaply online if he does not have it. I really think it helps them get over infections and viruses faster. 2. To soothe his mouth and throat, syringe him slippery elm syrup. You can get powdered slippery elm at a health food

Poor Bramble! He has such bad luck! No newideas here, just wanted to offer some support and good wishes to you and Bramble. Personally, I would force-feed if it is more than 2 days without food. Try and see if he will lick a bit of honey off your finger, that makes my throat feel better

Nutrical is probably the best choice, since it's made for cats. I hadn't heard about giving cats honey, I know there's a reason you're not suppose to give it to human babies, can't remember why though. I think it would be safer to give white Karo corn syrup. That's one of the ingredients in

Please try Tabby's Place located on Route 202 in Hunterdon Co. They take in FIV positive cats, especially ones from shelters that are about to be put to sleep. They might have a waiting list, but please try them. Also The Best Little Cathouse in PA takes FIV positive cats also. -
