Hi all,
I know this could sound quite bizarre but... well, two days ago I found
a little sparrow in the garden, he stayed perfectly immobile and when
tried to fly, could fly only for a very few meters. I took him to my
house (I save you the details about how to segregate my cat from the

Dear Paolo,
Thank you for helping this poor little soul! Most of the things I've heard and read say only to keep the bird warm and in a dark place until you can get it to a wildlife specialist; well, that's going to be tough if they are all on Holiday!
Here's a website I found which includes a
Paolo,
We had to take care of a young sparrow for 2 days once until we could get her or him to a rehabber. I think they told us to buy dry dog food and soak a few pieces in water and mix with some banana and feed that. The bird definitely liked it.

Dear Paulo
It's wonderful of you to try and help the sparrow.
Here's some info that I hope will be helpful re feeding the little
sparrow from the site for the UK Royal Society for Protection of Birds.

Hi Paolo,
It sounds like you have a fledgling there. There's a couple of days in
their development where they can only fly horizontally, (a very
dangerous time for them). If he's still alive, (sadly, they don't live
long in a regular house setting), he may be ready to fly by now. If he
Hi Jenn,
That's such wonderful news about little Bones! She was in such sad
shape when she came to you. I don't know where you find the time with
all you do to administer to these critical ones that are in your care.
I'm sorry about Mythic's skin problems. I've been thinking about the

Hi everyone,
I took Bandy in to the vet today and he had 106.2 temp again...Anyway, he got a dex injection and it always seems to help...When we got home, he went straight to the food bowl and had some dry and can...He has eaten again since then, too...he had only gained another ounce..but he is
I hope the trip to the specialist works out and
they are able to fix Bandy's problems, and get him some decent relief from this

I am so very sorry you lost your little male after his neuter.
That is so heartbreaking. Also, so sorry about little Albany you lost

Sending you positive and healing thoughts.

Hi Brenda!
Yes, I know that Sophie has a lot of dear friends on this list! I hadn't posted any updates on her recently because she is pretty stable now but maybe I should have. She is a little dear and enjoying life to the fullest, padding around, very loving and playing and "taking care of her
