BTW, thanks to everyone who had ideas about getting Bella to eat her Mega C. After syringing her with it, she no longer runs from the stuff and will eat it mixed into her food. Yay!On another note, as I was getting ready to go to sleep, I heard a loud meowing sound on my porch. When I opened
Sounds like Pepper is back. Instinctively I
think you should wait on the Frontline--at least for a few days. I'm not

waiting a few days should make no difference. He is stressed enough

Good luck. You are

Hi there Ashleigh,
I am not a FELV+ expert as many on this list are, but I can tell you
that I have used a drop or two of Revolution on kittens as young as 4
weeks without problems. Capstar is safe for kittens and works
immediately, but only kills adult fleas, not any larva or eggs that
I don't know the reasons but three different vets I know will not use

just be their preference or there may be a solid reason.

FeLV is a virus that can manifest in many different ways, or not at
all. The best way to know if your cat is positive is to have them
tested. Your vet can do a test called an elisha test which is done
right at the vets. If you get a positive result with that it's a good
idea to retest in

I took the kitten to the vet, and the vet says he looks healthy. He did not test for FeLV because he said it would be a waste of as Freddie is too young to have built up a titer. He recommended isolating Freddie from Bella for 5-6 weeks until Freddie can get 3 FeLV vaccines in him, so that's

Joe,
I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Sassy. Symptoms
for FeLV are vast because the virus manifests itself
in secondary illnesses, the two most serious being,

there are no symptoms, only a test showing that she is

Hi Ashley,
I would not use Frontline on a kitten that young, but
others here might have had more experience with a
kitten this young. You might do better just picking
the fleas off his little body with your fingers or
using a very fine tooth comb.
Definitely, I would keep Bella and Freddie away
Hi, Belinda,
If my kitten has FelV (she does, and tested positive), should I still
have her tested, if she's 9 months old already? Does she still have a
chance to fight it off? I really hope so, as she already has a mass in
her chest.

Julia,
If there were not mass in her chest and she were

There are people here who know the time intervals
between testing better than me. But, because she

probably already kicked in and I am

The folks on the feral list I peek in on once in a while were just
discussing ant deterrents. Some of the suggestions were:
diatomaceous earth (the type for use with pets, not the swimming
pool kind), ground cinnamon (sprinkled around doorways and windows to
keep them outside, food dishes
Here are some ideas on the natural way to get rid of ants, haven't

Julia,
I think potentially any cat that has had the virus for too long and
the virus hasn't gone to the bone marrow can become negative. However I
do recall a story from years ago where someone whose cat had the virus
in the bone marrow and had been + for 3 years supposedly turned
