2010-11-22 Thread Stacy Zacher
Thanks to everyone for your replies.  Spanky's vet appt was moved up from Wed
to tomorrow night, the vet is only in 1/2 day today and I'm at work.  The vet
said not to give him clavamox right now.  I pretty much didn't give him
anything yesterday but fluids and the pet-tinic and I have been syringing baby
food and AD.

This morning he sat up and was wanting to jump off the bed and later after I
took him downstairs, he was sitting in the window and meowing while looking out
the patio door. He hasn't done that in weeks so maybe all the stuff I'm giving
him was too much for him right now. I hate to think I'm making him feel even
sicker by trying to help him :-(

Thanks again

The probiotics might be a good idea - some good bacteria in the tummy/
gut, and certainly providing nutrients.  Might try syringing some
chicken/turkey baby food too.  Sometimes just getting something into
the belly helps.

Good luck - sending good vibes for Spanky.

[Felvtalk] question about grooming

2010-11-22 Thread JJ E

I adopted Spicey about a yr ago knowing he has FL. Over the year he has not
shown any symptoms, my vet said to not take him in as to not stress him. He is
almost 6 has had FL all his life. I feel very blessed that he hasn't any
symptoms. But my problem is his grooming. He is main coon mix with lots of fur.
He grooms himself, but not enough. He has many mats his nails need to be cut.
He doesn't like to be picked up I am afraid to cut his nails ot trim his
mats. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [Felvtalk] Caesar Please add to the CLS :(

2010-11-22 Thread Mike Finch
Dear Sherry,

I will pray for angels of peace and comfort for you in your sorrow over
Caeser's
passing. I click on, with dread mostly, each of these messages with add to
the
CLS, not knowing whether or not I'm going to end up crying. Heck, I can't
even
figure out what CLS means! :| I've been drawing a blank now for about six
months, and am so tired of trying I figured I'd just own up to it and hope
someone will enlighten me. ;) Your email hit me especially hard because I can
picture everything you described about you and your boy. Your'e right. They
DO
know when they are special in particular to you. And my heart sores knowing
that Caeser had you to make him feel that way. The extra special and sweet
posts, such as yours, are so heart warming even with the weight of the sorrow
and the tears. It's the love in your/our heart(s) that shores itself up
against
that heavy load.

We care about you, and I will pray for you, and hope that this weight will be
lifted in the days to come, and eased by your precious memories of Caeser. God
bless you.

Oh Sherry..I admire you so much for giving such love to these special
kitties...and to all those on this list that do the same. We have a candle
burning brightly tonight to light Caesar's way home. He knows how much you
love him and care for him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

What can I say about this BEAUTIFUL sweet boy,he had the softest most gentle
look in his eyes ALWAYS. And he knew out of ALL the Sids kids he was extra
special to my heart.I got to spend some time with him after my shift
Saturday, and deep in my heart I knew I was not going to see him again.I had
such a hard time leaving that night.I could NOT give him enough kisses on his
beautiful black and white face or tell him I loved him enough times. He knew he
was my special baby.As you all know I love all the Sids kids, but some melt into
your heart just a little more. My heart is so heavy tonight. :(

Oh, Sherry, I am so sorry. Gentle Bridge vibes to Caesar and hugs to you and
all at Sids. I'm sure Caesar left this world comforted by your special love
for him.
