right. when you explain to companies why you are asking, they (most anyway)
are happy to help you with all information needed. as long as you are not
implying that their product is defective in any way. since we have a special
need, it helps get info. dorlis

Well, he ate the broth of the canned chicken I had (regular people Tyson
white meat canned chicken) and then he ate 3 or 4 bites of the actual meat.
This
morning he's done the same thing. No cat food but he'll drink that broth and
eat some of the meat. He's much perkier today and as far as
Hi Sidney,
Hi Sidney, I know you said you are not really familiar with kitties
and there needs so this is an FYI to help, please don't give any broth
that you have bought in the store to a cat, it almost certainly contains
onion as part of the flavoring and onion is very deadly to cats,
This is just canned chicken, not broth, and the can says 100% canned chicken.
It doesn't say anything about any spices.

Do you have the brand name and a phone number, I would be happy to
call and ask about the onion?

Try the Gerber baby
Subject: Re: [Felvtalk] General seems to have a fever
Try the Gerber baby food-2nd stage. Also, if you get some raw chicken (dark
meat is fine--wings, legs, etc), just boil it up in a bit of water--nothing
added. Then you can give him the broth and the chicken.

Please be careful when feeding Tyson products. Their chickens are loaded with

If he has an upper respiratory infection he could be having trouble smelling
and cats eat by smell. If he has a fever, he won't want to eat...If he
hasn't eaten all day (and yesterday)? he is getting into risk of liver
failure. Join the feline assisted feeding yahoo group immediately and find
out
Try baby food meat. Junior loved the turkey, just be sure there is no onion
in it. I forget which brands are appropriate. It has been a while since I
had to entice Junior. Also try the L lysine added to it cause the URI could
be frome the herpes virus and this will help. Be sure he doesn't get
he has only failed to eat today. He was eating fine yesterday.
He perked up a little just in the last 10 minutes, came over and made
biscuits on my tummy and nowhe's taking a bath in the recliner :-)
THANKS

Hmmm - these are the options I'd consider:
1) sub q fluids
2) if a URI, some safe 4-hour nose drops, seems like Little Noses or
4-hr neosynephrine
3) Yup, like somebody said, syringe feed chicken baby food
