After I had lost one or two, I began brushing them and keeping the fur. I use
it for felting on cushions, purses, etc. Now I have a bit of each of my babies
with me always.

Blessings to you and to Whimsy.  When it was time for Ebony to leave this
world, I took him out in the snow and let himsit/lay in the cold.  This is
what he wanted and we froze until the vet got there on New Year's Eve
nightMiddletown Animal Clinic rocks.  Taking a very old, sick cat out
into the cold and snow made no sense to anyone but the two of us.  You have a
heart connection with Whimsy and I am so glad it worked.

Wow, Shannon, that is fabulous news! And really weird since it sounded like
once he got out he would never want to come back in. Most of our cats have
been outdoor cats before they came here (3 were feral, one a stray) and when
they look out the window at the subzero winter we wish there was a way to
let them know how much better off they are inside. Luckily none of them ever
really made an issue of it, and it's so cool that Whimsy seems to be
satisfied now as well.

Just wanted to give an update on Whimsy, originally a feral I was going to
TNR.  He went for another visit about 6 weeks ago to the vet and surprisingly
everything was 'perfect'.  I know how things change quickly with these guys,
but it was still a celebration.  Since then, he's been wayyy more interested
in coming in.  He DOES have the sunroom (our others miss laying about in the
rays, but they'll recover) all to himself. (I think it's great he can feel
he's still a part of the outdoors, with all the windows in there) He comes in
before dark and is out in the morning.  Usually he stays in the yard, his
box, or in the sunroom during the day - he gets really upset if he's locked
inside too long, so he's still outside when he wants for short periods. He
mostly sits with us, watches the fish in the pond, or climbs the large tree.
I have a feeling come fall, he's going to be strictly inside.  Now, when he
wanders a bit, we call him and he's
within earshot - he comes bounding through the yard like a puppy (don't tell
him I made a canine comparison, please).  So, we have done this at 'his
pace'.   He's become the 'lappiest' cat I have ever had, always wanting to
cuddle.  He truly wants to meet the others inside, and it's so sad to see him
look at the 'real inside' of the house, wanting to come in.  But, he's got
his own toys, scratcher, catnip, etc.  And it's about a year ago I first saw
him - a skittish bundle of black and white, untrusting and scared.  These
guys really teach us to not believe the word impossible, don't they?

This group helped sooo much.  So, Whimsy's success is shared by all here.

WHY IS WHIMSY STILL IN THE SUNROM? UNLESS HE DOESN'T GET ALONG WITH SOME OF
THE OTHERS, HE COULD COME IN. IF IT IS THE FELV STUFF, NO PROBLEM AS LONG AS
OTHERS ARE UP ON THIER SHOTS. ANNIE AND NITNOY HAE BOTH BEEN INSIDE, ANNIE FOR
2 YARS AND NITNOY FOR 1 YEAR AND SO FAR NO PROBLEMS. ONLY PROBLEM IS HOMIE,
SHE CAME UP WITH A URINARY PROBLEM, STRUVITE AND CALCIUM CYRSTALS AND WE ARE
WORKING ON THAT WITH MEDS AND FOOD, BUT NO CONNECTIONS WITH ANNIE OR

bundle of black and white, untrusting and scared.  These guys really teach us
to not believe the word impossible, don't they?

This group helped sooo much.  So, Whimsy's success is shared by all here.

Subject: [Felvtalk] Whimsy update - happy news

Just wanted to give an update on Whimsy, originally a feral I was going to
TNR.  He went for another visit about 6 weeks ago to the vet and
surprisingly everything was 'perfect'.  I know how things change quickly
with these guys, but it was still a celebration.  Since then, he's been
wayyy more interested in coming in.  He DOES have the sunroom (our others
miss laying about in the rays, but they'll recover) all to himself. (I think
it's great he can feel he's still a part of the outdoors, with all the
windows in there) He comes in before dark and is out in the morning.
Usually he stays in the yard, his box, or in the sunroom during the day - he
gets really upset if he's locked inside too long, so he's still outside when
he wants for short periods. He mostly sits with us, watches the fish in the
pond, or climbs the large tree.  I have a feeling come fall, he's going to
be strictly inside.  Now, when he wanders a bit, we call him and he's
within earshot - he comes bounding through the yard like a puppy (don't
tell him I made a canine comparison, please).  So, we have done this at 'his
pace'.   He's become the 'lappiest' cat I have ever had, always wanting to
cuddle.  He truly wants to meet the others inside, and it's so sad to see
him look at the 'real inside' of the house, wanting to come in.  But, he's
got his own toys, scratcher, catnip, etc.  And it's about a year ago I first
saw him - a skittish bundle of black and white, untrusting and scared.
These guys really teach us to not believe the word impossible, don't they?
