It's probably just a matter of personal choice at this point, but we vaccinated our FelV- cat once a year and we decided not to re-test after the first year of exposure. Honestly, if they are adult cats, and they haven't become FelV+ within a year, its probably a slim chance they will ever become

The only thing I know for sure is kittens born with FelV usually throw the virus off or die during their first year. Cats who are exposed to FelV when older seem to be much more resistant to the virus. As you said, there really are no statistics to go by as each situation is different. On
