Hi Nina! I certainly don't want to dog EVO as, I believe, it's a step in the right direction...but I will tell you, and please forgive my highly scientific opinion... ;) but when I opened the bag of Solid Gold, the thing that really stuck in my mind was the smell...it just smelled *good!* EVO always smelled kinda heavy and greasy to me...maybe it's the way they have to preserve it, or maybe it's the higher meat content, I'm not sure. But I've certainly noticed a difference in SP's fur...it's not as greasy and there's much less dandruff than there used to be. But, like you, I'm only having an issue with a couple of the kids...the others seem to tolerate EVO just fine (although I would argue that I've seen an improvement with all of their coats since switching to Solid Gold...everybody seems to be much softer)! :) I suspect that Solid Gold might contain fewer allergens as the protein source is lamb as opposed to beef or chicken...I was also wondering about Rosemary extract as I c ould've sworn that I had read somewhere that that can be an allergen (which EVO has as a preservative), but I can't find that source anywhere...Anyhoo, can you tell I have a little too much time on my hands right now? ;)
But I think I'll take your advice and just keep doing what I'm doing! Hope all is well with your gang! How is Star doing besides the itchy skin? Chatty's made himself at home, but we're battling a nasty case of stomatitis right now...fortunately, he's the perfect candidate to try out my cat toothbrushing skills on (or lack thereof) as soon as the inflamation starts subsiding! :) Take care, Jen **************************************************** "But if you tame me, then we shall need each other.
