oh, kerry, i remember inky! wow, what a long life he had--as hard as it must be to lose one at that age (i've never been honored to have one stay quite that long), it would seem to still be worthy of celebration. one of my boys did that blessing of the house thing in the days before he left, too--very touching, as he was tremendously frail at the time and it definitely took intention for him to do it. it felt like he was, as perhaps inky did as well, was checking one more time to make sure that all the windows were latched, the doors closed, and the household safe before he went to sleep one last time. thanks for reminding of that special gift my jonathan gave me so long ago. GLOW to guide inky's way to the bridge, and to ease your heart. (the 13is was the first anniversary of my gypsy-darling's passing, and i'm sure there was a huge party going on all day--and he was welcomed with open paws and waving whiskers.
