i am so sorry. I know how devastating this is.I did have a young Persian (not FIV or FELV) die after a spay. She was very sweet, healthy, less than a year old. I talked with another vet about it, and check with the Persian list for their opinion. I think the vet office did not pay proper

Dear Rachel,
I am so, so sorry about your loss of Mr. Dobbs. I can't imagine the
shock you must be feeling. I do know, however, that he knows how much
you love him that he is grateful that he got to leave this world from a
home where he was loved, even if it was only for a short time. Take
How tragic - I'd be devastated too. The only sudden death I've had,
I attributed to heart worms, and it wasn't after surgery. Never
heard of this situation, but wanted you to know that I'm so sorry for
your loss.

Rachel,
I'm so sorry to hear about beautiful Mr. Dobbs. What
a horrible shock it must have been when you woke up
this morning. I don't know what could have happened.

spay---both cats. Different vets, unrelated cats. It sounds like the
same type situation. Both cats were throw aways. Both cats were fine
when I checked on them late in the 2ndnight. Both were in the
process of leaving on the 3rd morning when I
Thank you all for the kind words. It is still such a shock for me and I'm sick that he died alone.I just hate that. I wish I had slept in that room with him, there is a daybed in there, perhaps he would have woken me up and let me know something was wrong.
I questioned the vaccinations also,
oh my god, I am so sorry. Yes, I have heard of it. Hideyo had it happen to
her. I think it happens in a small number of cases, like with human surgeries.
It could mean there was an underlying health issue that was undetectable.

I chose tonot spay my Moogie (FELV+). I think many of us choose to
not put these guys under unnecessary surgeries (though sometimes it is something
you just can't live with for male cats, they do tend to reek). BUT, my girl was
an indoors ONLY cat, with no intact males in the house, so there
