Supplements...I also have some questions

2005-11-23 Thread Allie Deaver
Hi all-

I've been reading the supplements emails...

My FeLV+ cat was just diagnosed yesterday with the disease via Elisa
test. She showed some fluid in her lungs, which my vet thinks is the
result of a URI not getting better on its own but this other vet I
talked to thinks is a symptom of the FeLV itself, so I'm extremely
confused. We gave her a diuretic and the fluid is almost comppletely
gone (her breathing is almost 100% normal, whereas it very suddenly
became quite labored last weekend when I took her in) and Clavamox
seems to be helping with other symptoms. Her fever is down and other
than being a bit more sluggish that usual after playtime, her behavior
and appetite are all totally normal.

Obviously, I'm going to need to do a lot more for her, so for a cat
displaying the earlier symptoms of slight fever, labored breathing, a
few sneezes and intermittent lethargy (all of which seem to be gone
now), what should I look into for her? Like I said, I'm very confused
as to where in the disease she is and what I can expect. I want to do
everything I possibly can for her...which ideally would be a
combination of traditional and holistic meds.

I'm new to this, so I'm grateful for any advice anyone can give me. Thanks!

Allie

If the fluid problem continues it may be a good idea to have her
heart checked, kitties with heart problems will have this as a symptom.
I belong to a feline heart group and this is a very common thing.
