Sandra, do you mean just plain l-lysine - like the powder?  There is a good place online to order inexpensively - something like $5 per bottle.  I don't remember the company but Gloria will.  Gloria??

Hi Belinda, I have not been on line so much as I had some bad news 2 weeks ago, with the last blood test showing Tabbs at HCT 10%, he drop from HCT 21% , which was up on another test 2 weeks early where he had drop from 17.5 to 17.2, then the last test but one he went up to the HCT21% .To have this big drop was a shock to me, as I thought he was picking up, so did the new vet, The only good news is that on all the tests (4 now), his Kidneys seem to be good.
He has been on the Interferon for the last 11 days, I have been lucky and have been using the  feline interferon Virbagen omega, 1/2 ml every other day, I am also luckly that he is still eating and has no side effects that are showing . A little quite for a fews hours after the injection, which I am doing at home.
I had a another blood test this morning, which will be the first after using  the interferon, I was hopful that we were going to have some good results, but when the blood was drawn, the blood did not look very good, too much water showing, I will not know the results until hopfully Saturday midday. So not looking so good. his mouth is still playing him up and I will be restarting the stomorgyl as this seem to help him, but we took a break from it when we started the interferon. Also he is on Iron and vitamins supperments, and the Kidneys Fortekor 5

I have been trying to get the l-lysine from my chemist, but their brand names are not the same, can any one help me by giving me a list of all the ingredients that are normally listed on the packing., so as I can try get a close match. ????

Belinda I read your up date this morning, and really hope that things take a better course for you and Bailey, think about you both, take care and stay strong

  Hi Sandra,
With kidney problems anemia is quite common, you need to get Tabbs on epogen, and it would be a good idea to join the anemia list.  I just recently joined because my Bailey is anemic, we will find out Tuesday if it is an auto immune response or the FeLV virus replicating in his bone marrow or cancer.  He has been on epogen going on 2 weeks now and so far on his last bloodwork his HCT was ho lding at 18%.  Tuesday he will get bloodwork again to see if there has been any change.  Not making the red cells means his anemia is non-regenerative and this makes it imperative he gets epogen, if he is not making red cells he will not live very long, and epogen takes up to 3 weeks to work. The fact that he is eating is good, my Bailey isn't eating anything on his own and I am syringe feeding him everyday.

I couldn't read your bloodwork results are they in spanish?  Can you ask your vet what the hemocrit value is, is this  [ GOT : <19 UI/25_0c ]  the hemocrit value on your bloodwork results?

Here is the address for the anemia list, they are very knowledgable on kidney related anemia:

As dangerous as it may be Tabbs mouth also needs to be addressed, untreated infections can lead to much more dangerous things, even death.  What antibiotic was/is he on for it?  Has it been checked to see if it is cancerous?
