I got my Epogen (the generic Epoetin) from my Vet and it costs $78 for teeny tiny bottle! Monkee got three subcutaneous injections of it- only .3 ml- on a Tuesday, then Thursday, then Saturday. That was how the Vet prescribed it for Monkee's anemia.

I'm trying not to panic, but Guinevere (2 years old, FeLV-) has
been vomiting since yesterday afternoon. She continued to try to

eat and drink, but a little while ago, I tried to tempt her with
her favorite treats, and she refused them and them vomited up

Suggestions? My vet is closed, and I spent all available cash on

Re: Need advice quick please

2005-09-30 Thread Lernermichelle

I ti s generally best to take food and water away (food for 24 hours and water for 12, I think) when they are vomiting uncontrollably like that, to let their system settle. Pink could mean blood, I guess, like an ulcer or something. I think I would take food and water away and if she is still vomiting in a few hours take her to an emergency vet. Most veterinary hospitals should have some sort of fund to help out, or at least be willing to do a payment plan if you explain the situation.

Thanks, Bonnie. We did discuss that. I don't have any
plants that she can get to though. They're all up high, and she isn't a
climber, so it's highly unlikely that she ate a plant. As for any other
pica behavior, she's never been prone to that. She's negative, and has
always been perfectly healthy up until now.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the bloodwork is as unremarkable as her
physical exam and x-ray.

Terri,My experience with this was when my orange girl
Rosalie ate a semi-toxic plant. She got over it, thank heavens, but my vet
x-rayed her to make sure she hadn't swallowed something. When she hadn't
stopped vomiting for over 24 hours, he asked if he could do exploratory
surgery in case she had ingested something that didn't show up on the
X-ray. You might want to keep this in mind. I would call an
emergency vet for advice if she doesn't
  stop.Bonniewww.elephants.com- Original

please Gang, I'm trying not to panic, but
Guinevere (2 years old, FeLV-) has been vomiting since yesterday
afternoon. She continued to try to eat and drink, but a little
while ago, I tried to tempt her with her favorite treats, and she
refused them and them vomited up whatever water she drank. It
has a pinkish tint to it. Suggestions? My vet is
closed, and I spent all available cash on Salome' 2 weeks ago.
I was approved for CareCredit today, but the vets that take it are
closed as well. =^..^= Terri, Siggie the Tomato Vampire,

Hi Michele,

Yes. That's what we have been instructed to do. Reintroduce
water in 12 hours, but only a little at a time and if she can hold it down, then
a little more water and so on.

Terri

I would get her to a vet, she may have gotten into something and may
have something caught in her intestines, has she had a bowel movement in
the last day or two?
