It may be that Sugar was resistant to the virus so it never actually took hold in his system. He had adequate exposure but with a good immune system he may not have even gotten it. The vet that I talked to that has done more research on FeLV than most other vets said that the belief now is

I'm guessing all your other cats have been tested for FeLV? I can't imagine any vet or shelter vaccinating for FeLV without testing first. Peaches should definitely be tested before letting her near the other cats. If they are all negative never go outside I wouldn't vaccinate them for FeLV.
