To many, they are nothing more than a worn out pair of shoes. Lots of people in the country let their animals run loose and do not get them spayed/neutered because it costs too much. All they would have to do is do without beer and cigarettes and soda and all junk food for a month.

I wish I could win a sweepstakes, then I could buy about 500 acres and build barns for all my rescues to live in. Fenced in of course, because I would have dogs, cats, horses, burros, whatever. Then, I woul go around and gather up all the strays and neuter/spay and let them enjoy life.

For someone like you, it does not decrease their value, but many take them on a whim and then realize they have to clean boxes, feed them and take them to the vet. Bottom line, it is easier to just dump them or give them to someone else to deal with and then they dn't want them either.

I put out saucers of sugar water for the bees and wasps so they will leave the hummingbird feeders alone. They were so crowded that some were landing on top of others, pushing them into the water. They were drowning so I scooped them out on my fingers and spred them out on the deck railing.
