the ratio question--since I mix it with canned food.
However, I purchase it at Whole Foods--but have seen it at most regular drug
stores, too.

Isn't lysine odorless and tasteless? I've got to admit to never having
tasted it.

l-lysine is a wondrous thing. tricks the herpes virus into not replicating,
for some still-to-be-determined reasons. there is ongoing research to find
out how and why, and the EXACT dosage to use in cats; many multi-cat
facilities use is prophylatically (um, haven't had caffeine yet

Hi -- Could you give me a ratio of how much l-lysine added to how much water?
And is it readily available in powdered form, and from where? Thank you so
much!

I use Viralys and sprinkle it on a small amount of cannedfood so I am sure they
get it all.Or crush a pill and sprinkle, again, on a small amount (Tablespoon)
of canned food. Mine aren't great about being syringed. L-lysine is tasteless
and since they eat canned, this is easing dosing for me
if you adopt her!

Hey Karen,
You're absolutely right - we have had people on the list who've used
Interferon in the eyes. May have been Tally, who knows a lot about interferon.
But I'm forwarding an old email to the list, related to this. Keep in
mind also, that interferon is mixed with saline, which is an
yes yes yes I knew itGloria you are wonderful ! Do you remember
anything else?
I dont remember any Tally.
Gloria,
so I dont need to have it mixed a certain way?
Do you remember?
Wow, the message I was forwarding didn't get thru - I'll try again -
Tally's web site, btw, is at
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/9352/stomatitis.html - scroll
down and look for interferon.
Tally was on this list for a long while, seems like I got on in 2001 -
anyhow she has so
OK - let me try to get this thru again... Gloria

They had rhino, chlamydia. ringworm

He is a vet. opth.
For our Felv+ and FIV+ guys who had a HORRIBLE time w/ the Herpes virus in
the eyes, he Rx'd Zithromax and used that in conjunction w/ the
intranasal/intraocular FVRCP.

they get lysine in the food too. Terri if you remember jamies or Pam's

Yes, this was "Pre" Lysine days
Now, Lysine is a regular part of the regiment, especially w/ the cats that
seem to have "chronic" problems.
Good Luck w/ your babies.

If it's herpes they have to have viroptic. I think I remember someone putting interferon drops in the nose, but not the eyes? Either way, I don't think it will help without the viroptic
