Re: [Felvtalk] Availability of Winstrol....
Hi Robert -- I did call Diamond Back Drugs and asked if they could provide the names/contact information for vets who were willing to prescribe Winstrol and they said could not do that because they work with so many vets and clients from all over, and they figured it would be just too much of a task for them. They are very nice to work with though, so possibly if someone called and said for instance, do you know of a vet in the Cincinnati area that I could go to, maybe they would recommend someone. When I needed Winstrol for Tigger I changed vets because the one would not work with me on it. The new vet, I sort of stepped out of my usual passive self and announced rather boldly that this is what I wanted and if they weren't going to work with me, I would not be using them. I was polite but firm, and it worked. Re: [Felvtalk] Availability of Winstrol
At the risk of really sounding like a snake oil salesman, I am going to again suggest you try Winstrol with your cats. I had a cat I adopted from a feral colony, and when I picked her up she was very very sick. The woman I picked her up from, clearly had a bunch of cats from the same shelter, all very ill with something. One of the cats I met at her home was so adorable but she said he wasn’t eating and seemed to have a sore abdomen and hadn’t been eating and she didn’t know what was wrong. I learned he died the next day and she had tests run and they came back FIV positive. I was already half-expecting it because the woman had told me that many kittens from that colony would seem fine at first, then their bellies would blow up, and they would suddenly die. The little girl I brought home got progressively and dramatically worse. She was so very very hot (extremely high temperature), her abdomen was round and felt odd and she had a very congested-sounding chest. Her eyes were running and she was so incredibly sick. Nothing was helping. I tried antibiotics, and a bunch of other things. There was no improvement for days. I took her to the vets and they did a chest xray and there was no fluid IN the lungs – it was around the lungs. Nothing they tried helped either. I finally decided, what the hell, and gave her Winstrol, and I got a very good result. Within days, started eating, her temperature dropped back to normal, and she began to interact with me, rather than just lie on the couch next to me – basically immobile. Though I have never had her tested, I believe she had FIV and I believe that the Winstrol helped. When I find that the vets tell that they have no ideas or suggestions, and the condition is hopeless or incurable, I figure the worst case scenario is that the Winstrol doesn’t help. I keep getting good results instead. I don’t think the vets have too much to offer for cats with FIV, just like FeLV cats. If they give you no other options, consider trying Winstrol. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis on your babies. We all know first hand how hard it is to hear our babies have an illness. I don't know of any FIV groups personally so if you don't find one you like feel free to stay here with us. I think basically on both illnesses it is good to support the immune system as a preventative measure. There is a lot of good information out there on what works naturally for HIV patients and what therapies are compatible for kitties. If you don't feel comfortable researching yourself and coming up with a immune support system, I would look for a holistic vet in your area and get some information. I wish all vets were trained in both, so we only needed to go to one! They offered it in other forms besides liquid, I can't remember all of them so they might have it in pill form. I bought it in liquid because that was easier for me to give to Tigger and he liked the salmon flavor. I would let him smell the syringe before I gave it and he did not try to avoid it. The company's website is http://www.diamondbackdrugs.com/ and their phone number is 866-578-4420. I found them to be very good to work with, very efficient and also caring. The company seems large, but they take time to talk with you individually also. The vet had to fill out the prescription online, or fax it to them. Then they would call me to verify the address, and for me to give them payment by credit card. I paid $42 for a 25 day supply. Hope this helps. If they do not have pill form, you might be able to find other sources by googling "compounding pharmacy veterinarian". Re: [Felvtalk] Availability of Winstrol
Thank you very much Ardy. Now to get my vet to comply.
