Our volunteer fire department gives out stickers so you can list how many and what kind of pets you have but I worry now having heard about cats running back inside. I don't know how dedicated the volunteers would be in getting them out and how would they contain them once they are out. I am afraid they would be so busy with the fire, they might not spend too much time trying to get them out. Thinkthe best bet for me (in the middle of the woods) is to build an otdoor fenced in area where they could put them, that might work out better for the firemen. Especially since round here, cats are considered moer of a nusiance and they would not think of thm as I do.
