No, but the cat also isn't necessarily positive.  False positives can and do
happen.

This really grinds my gears that cats get euthanized based on this  
test if this is so. I've lost two really nice potential Siamese  
Rescue intakes this way (we don't take positives in our program  
and my local SPCA's policy is to euthanize positives).

No, unlike the FIV vaccination, the FELV vaccination doesn't cause  
them to test positive.  If they do test positive, however, it's a good  
idea to retest.
