all packages are on their way now!

We have now quite some few shirts in stock in Lou's design (-1 for Lou
himself). Find all the numbers in this thread.

Will request reimbursement separately. I'd appreciate feedback once your

Would not work with such a small logo according what they told me.
We had to remove the ".org" part to be able to make it smaller after the first
draft.
As small as they could do it, I don't think the complete "[Logo] FFmpeg.org" it
would look good anywhere except right in the middle like in Lou's design. For
having it in that place, I think Thomas' design is the way to go.

I got a sample of both, the updated Thomas' design (front/back in white) and
Lou's design (green/white on front). The photos are updated:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/54h3WaruCTEKsJOc2

Both designs come for 12€ each! Lou's design doesn't have a printing on the
neck. I'd choosen the green for our logo by their color chart - it looks good
color-wise to me.

My suggestion would be, that we could order Thomas' design for all the
developers and requests I've recieved by now and that we take Lou's for our
stock for give-aways during conferences. Just my thinking...

Except for Nicolas, nobody shared his opinion about the design. I'd like to

White-on-black, and more generally anything-on-black makes the majority
of nerdish t-shirts out there. A more colorful scheme would stand out

These shirts will be silk screened, right? If so, the green is intended

Because I've already got a lot of requests for shirts - all from either
developers or well-known users - I think I should give you an update on the
raise of the overall numbers:

S1
M7
L 15
XL 15
2XL 3

This will leave 25 shirts with us and the remaining shirts will be shipped to 7
different countries.
So we should end up with 492€ (+multicolor maybe) for the shirts + shipping.

Okay then I'll try to have the logo in green and white printing. I'd order all

Yes, compared to the all white logo. The logo is green. I would want it

Do you think this would actually look better?
I doubt three colors (including shirt color) would look better.

Black/white shirts were preferred by the people wearing them during CLT for the
past few years.
We had a bright-green/white before that. Dark-green/white might also look good.
The question of colors is of course all open. However, to my experience black
is the most favored shirt color for stuff like that.

I could do several color combination if people would like me to. I think we
should keep the amount of combinations small for the recognition value of the
shirt.

I'd like to do a new T-shirt order. The shirts could be given to

My idea is to order 25 shirts:

1*S
5*M
10*L
7*XL
2*XXL

Last time we ordered 5 shirts and got a price of 22,50 Euro per shirt.
So, we are talking about a maximum price of 562,50 Euro (excluding
delivery costs).

since I had my own shirt exchanged during VDD, I don't even have one for the

I went to a nice shop today and they can offer a quite nice price for shirts
based on Thomas' last design with breast and neck printings. So I ordered four
samples for just 12€ each! I had the unprinted shirts in my hand and the
quality is good in spite of that nice price. I even think that 12€ per shirt
can't be beaten by Liu's offer to have them printed in China... shipping should

I'll get the printed samples tomorrow and one of these will definitely find its

If we're happy with the samples, I'd like to order a pile of shirts for us and
that could be the amount Thomas listed in the beginning of this thread. I'd
also like to add some more for the shirts I've already promised to send to
several people. This means I expect something like 350-400€ including shipping
to various places.

This is even cheaper than what Thomas estimation was so I hope nobody objects :)

This shop can also do stitching on basecaps, with a little longer waiting time
also the coffee mugs.
I also talked about stickers that would come in a similar manner like the nice

I want to get the shirts done first.

I got the samples done and I think they are good! You can find pictures of what
the design is here:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/54h3WaruCTEKsJOc2

I add to the numbers for our stock of shirts (list quoted above) the additional
need I have for already assigned/promised shirts and subtract the number of
samples I made, what comes out are the following numbers:

S1
M6
L 11
XL 11
2XL 3

Sums up to 12€ * 32 = 384€ (that includes the costs for the samples)
Then there will be some costs for shipping, so I expect a low 400+ € total.

If there are no objections, I will order them and ship early next week :)

Based on Thomas comments and comparison to the previous design, I'll have the
".org" part of the text removed and the overall size of the logo on both sides
reduces. Should look a little more decent and is then similar to his previous
design. Looking at the shirt in reality, I second his opinion and if nobody
insists on the ".org" I'll go that way.

Perhaps the shirt made in China is very cheap. :-D
You can design the content on the shirt, and print the content at
China. :-D
Maybe only about 50-100 Yuan RMB(about equal to 6-12 Euro )in China.

I like the idea and several people were asking about them.

Maybe the amount of 25 should be raised a bit to have some stock for next
year... Even more if Lou can get us a cheaper price.

I know some guys who make shirts. I'll get a quote too.

Can you provide some images of what the shirts look like?

[FFmpeg-devel] order T-shirts

2016-09-04 Thread Thomas Volkert
Hi,

Some guys at the VDD asked for FFmpeg T-shirts.
I'd like to do a new T-shirt order. The shirts could be given to
multimedia devs who stop at one of our next booths.

If you like or don't like this idea, feel free to leave a comment here.

Best regards,
Thomas.
