No, FFmpeg cannot do that.

ok I found a way to avoid it, using f4vpp to normalize the file

Well Carl, my mistake, I didn't make the right test so
the failing test is still there. it's not a git problem.

sometimes it happens also for other software I clone and update from git.
usually when important file changes are made.
so yes, I confirm that git is not 100% rock solid

For curiosity I installed the package from yum (fedora 21)
and the problem persists.

FFmpeg does not support different output size in one video
stream. You have to choose one resolution for the whole
output stream. All parts of the input stream that have a
different resolution will be scaled.

[FFmpeg-user] flatten f4v append with different resolution

2015-05-02 Thread Madovsky

Hi,

I'm trying to convert a long F4V recorded on FMS
with multiple "append" from a livestream. some
segments contains different resolutions than the one that started.
I started from 462x260, after 1920x1200 etc...
from flash player the stream works correctly, shows every segements.
from a third party video player, the hig resolution is not shown or only
a part of it with big pixel traces.
I tried to flatten the file with f4vpp which solve the width and height
of the

smaller segment but the high resolution is cropped
I tried to find a way to resize with ffmpeg but no success.
is it possible to let fffmpeg resize at a certain part of the movie?

[FFmpeg-user] cannot normalize MP4 from RTMP live recorded stream

2015-04-29 Thread Madovsky

Hi,

I just recorded some rtmp mp4 live stream from flash media server
and concatenate on the fly the stream with server side function that append
recorded stream to the current one.
once done I can read the stream correctly from flash player
but from other players (like VLC or ffplay) it's absolute crap. size is
not respected and quality is awful,

more, the concatenate file is not shown.
so I tried to encode with ffmpeg but it says that "concatenated mp4
files is not supported correctly, patch welcome"
the metadata is not caught by ffmpeg and the quality is still awful,
even if I use -vcodec copy. sound is OK

the command line I tried is

ffmpeg -i test.mp4 -async 1 -vsync 1 -apad -vpad -acodec libfdk_aac
-vcodec copy -crf 23 -y output.mp4

I can provide the video sample

[FFmpeg-user] mosaic with audio from live streams

2015-04-05 Thread Madovsky

Hi,

I tried to make a mosaic with all video audio from the example below

https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Create%20a%20mosaic%20out%20of%20several%20input%20videos

with live rtmp as input sources.
everything works well, unless the half of runs failed. I got a loop
of "ffmpeg missing picture in access no frames!" and had to rerun until
it works.

once it runs, for tests I use the same live stream for the 2 or 4 mosaic
units and
noticed that there is around 3 seconds difference between every mosaic
screen.
which means that from the 1 screen treated to the 4 there is around 9
seconds delay.

How to get the 2, 4 or more mosaic screens synced from each other with
the same

sync that the rtmp server?

Many thanks
