The usual problems hashed/rehashed on this list. Poor depth of field for
focusing, banding, buggy software. Also loud and takes up too much desk
space. To use VueScan (my fave) you must use the fine scan mode - which
takes 3x as long per scan.
The banding is due to the 3-line CCD,
From reports I have received, the problem with the banding is a design
flaw, and one in firmware.
Most CCD based scanners use a tri-line CCD sensor which has each line
represent one of the standard color separations. In other words, one is
filtered red, one green and one blue. Since each
The Minolta Scan Multi Pro suffers none of these
problems except possibly some clipping with negatives,
comes with glass holders, dICE, etc and is cheaper
than Nikon or Polaroid scanners.

I've owned the Nikon, Polaroid and Minolta (kept it) MF scanners. Out of
the 3 it's pretty difficult to say there is a worst one in terms of ultimate
scan quality. Based on features maybe but not scan quality. In terms of
working correctly, the Nikon is definitely the worst.

This is entirely dependant upon the operating system you are using. If
you are using an early version of Windows 95 you will be limited to
approx 2gb partition sizes. If you're using Win 95 Second Edition or
later (98, 98SE, ME, XP, 2000 etc) you'll be able to get full use of
