Just a thought - is your monitor a high quality one

Or the new Canoscan 4000? Decent price, not no real user experiences yet?

Indeed, most Nikon filmscanners can be used on their side or upright...

I Have used the Canoscan with other scanners, but not the Minolta.
I have found using Vuescan with the Canoscan does wonders. Even basic scans
come out with less noise. Do a multi passes or the long exposure pass gives
me great scans - adding shadow detail and getting rid of shadow noise.

Start with the distilled water and cotton buds, cleaning very gently. If the

I don't know what people are taking pictures of that inspire them to rave
about the fine grain of this film, but personally I find the grain in the

slower all
Are you guys still talking about Provia 400F? If so, I don't get your
point - it's a darn good 400 speed slide film in my experience, less grainy

Pushed it also does better than these. Much denser blacks. Best thing around

I've had this happen every now and then - I have found it is more often a
software/recording problem than a disk problem - the system froze, or
something was interrupted or suchlike. Also did you run test option when
writing? This will usually tell you if there was a write error.
Did you try the
sure thing.
Mode:Adjust:Gradient Map. =) I discovered it by accident and quite
like the results...you can experiment with different thresholds at
which your colours will be converted into gray etc. Not much more to
say than that...just experiment. I found that it gave me a more solid
scientist who'll find out the
real state of the art for us?
