Even Ed has mentioned that you will not gain much, if anything from
doing so.
It's that little bit that I wouldn't mind gaining. :) I'm happy with
incremental improvements. Anything that will help the image.
Don't get me wrong. I'm extremely happy with what I can get from my SS4000
Even Ed has mentioned that you will not gain much, if anything from
doing so. The noise levels aren't easily improved upon on the SS4000
and SS4000+, but if you have the chance to try it, let us know if you
get any improvement without loss due to misregistration.
I did try a multipass (x4) and
Steve:
Lets face it, memory is pretty cheap right now - and nerds like us
scanner folks probably already have loads of it just so we can scan
and manipulate images anyway :-)
I'm in agreement. I have a Polaroid SprintScan 4000, and I'd love to be
able to make multiple passes. Or even the long
[snip stuff about Vuescan automatically ensuring that multiple-pass
scans are registered with each other by using some of Ed's clever
jiggery pokery].
I agree this is an excellent idea and something I'd really like to see
in Vuescan. My Dual Scan 2 can not really benefit from multiple passes
the automatic alignment of the infrared and rgb passes will be released
in beta 9 in the next day or so.
I believe similar techniques could be used to improve/enable multi-scanning
on units with less than accurate alignment. This would certainly benefit
many scanners. Is it practical - do you
This is moving up the list, and is getting near the top. The fix
will help both the FS4000 and the ScanWit 2740S.
Ed,
I don't know how you do it allbut it sure is appreciated!

I got it working in the past hour,

What's new in version 7.5 beta 8
* Improved Filter|Infrared clean
Are any of the infrared cleaning changes going to improve and automate
alignment for the Canon FS4000, or is that for future versions?
