I use clarinets for this - they are far from ideal, but it's what I

Ever since my Set up Wizard went strange, and no longer gives me GPO

talking about and do the manual set up, using clarinets (not solo,
if you want to divide voice parts) for the vocal lines, as Chuck

Just to be exact, Cmd+H is not reserved for Hide by OSX. It is only

Hi all,
since Finale 2006b seems to support VST instruments, I started to
give them a try.
I copied the GPO big band to Finale's VST folder, and it gets
recogniced. However, to use it, I have to load the sounds into GPO.
Does that really mean I have to check first in the instrument list

You should not have to do this if you had Fin2006 installed before

Thanks for the help!

I opened another old file and got it to use the GPO sounds all right
after determinating which channels were used and loading the sounds required.
However - where can I set the audio output. Since the sounds are so

Hi Kurt,
1) Create a blank score template with the Setup Wizard Fin2006, open
your Fin2004 document in Fin2006, and copy the entries into your
template. (Obviously, you will lose all your page formatting, so this
would be a playback-only file.)
or
2) Read my tutorial GPOHP Tutorial
You'll have to ask a WIndows user about that. On Mac, AU/VST output
defaults to system sound output, which you can set in the Sound
Control Panel.

Johannes,
Finale's Setup Wizard *does* let you choose the exact GPO instrument
you want.
Trust me, from experience, it's *much* faster to use the Setup Wizard
to set up the GPO instruments for a full orchestral score than it is

Brian,
I'm not sure that this was also changed in 2005 but, in 2006, that
keyboard command has been changed to Command/E. This was done
because of conflict with OS X keyboard shortcuts. At least it's worth
a try to see if that started on 2k5b.

From the Finale forums:
Command-Alt-` is one of the new system-wide keyboard shortcuts.
It's function is to 'Move focus to the window drawer'. If you
deselect it under System Preferences/Keyboard Mouse/Keyboard
Shortcuts, the toggling between Scroll View and Page View works as
expected
