[Finale] Vertical Collision Remover causing crash

Using the Vertical Collision Remover plug-in has frozen Finale 2010 a few times in the last half hour. After I press 'OK,' it greys out all the windows and I have to force quit Finale (I'm on a Mac...) Luckily I save frequently, so i'm not losing any work, but it does bog down my efficiency.

In a score for flute, clarinet, guitar, piano and double bass, I set midi instrument flute (GM 74) to play the flute staff and midi instrument clarinet (GM 72)to play the clarinet. However I hear only trumpets on both staffs. Guitar sounds right. It is ironic that playback is set to SmartMusic

never, but i rarely use playback. the times i did look into playback, it was clear that to get the kinds of results they are used for should be done by exporting to a sequencer. ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu

I use it occasionally, usually for a ritard. Then I usually get frustrated because I can't control the rate of the slowing down. It seems the way to adjust it is very clumsy, or is there some better way to control it other than messing with the diagonal lines in the shape designer or the numbers

I have used executable shapes, especially when Human Playback fails to give the result I want. Now that relatively useful playback can be generated, I routinely make sound files so that I can send them along with scores to prospective performers ensembles, and conductors. They find them
