Percussion is a whole 'nother ball of wax. I think you may need to roll your
own there. This is a bit of a pain --- I just did this for the JABB drum kits
in Fin2011 and I certainly could have saved some time if there was a readymade
solution.

David,
I've been trying to set the gpo4 and reached the same conclusion. There are
pertinent .txt files but the .xml for gpo4 seems to be missing.

Thank you very much for clarifying this for me -- I suspect
you will be selling a font to me in the near future! :-)

Actually, using the screen sharing feature (VNC) works rather well, but I
couldn't imagine trying to do anything productive with Finale using it. Moving
sliders and stuff on a DAW, yes, totally, entering notes into Finalenot

Why not install a VNC on your iPad, and work on Finale that is running on your

As in all previous versions, you need to manually copy the
gpofull4instrument.txt file from your previous version of Finale (it's in the

Finale 2011, the location for such folders has changed -- they are now in the

You cannot just install finale or Sibelius or Photoshop or GarageBand on an
iPad. First off, they require way more CPU power than the iPad has. And storage
space.
Second, you need to redo how the program work. You don't have a mouse, you have
touch and gestures.

For finale to run on the iPad they would have to completely redo everything.

It might be more likely to see a reader version out, but I wouldn't hold by

Hi,
I just got FinMac 2011, and I have the full Garritan GPO4. With
FinMac 2009, the full Garritan appeared as a choice in the setup
wizard, and it was to be found in various other places. I know I can
add it after the document is set up by changing in the Aria player,

I have a question regarding the use of these fonts in Finale
or in Sibelius - I didn't think either program was unicode
compliant yet. Am I mistaken about this? If a program
isn't unicode compliant how does one access any of the
