Tried the uncheckTop Staff in Linked parts panel suggestion, Robert but
nothing happens.
Need to start measure numbering over in each section and
not show the time sig. change at end of previous section.
I am playing singing multiple hymn settings for Christmas eve service so
need as many pieces
Dave,
Finale can absolutely do what you want. BTW: I said to *check* the Top
Staff in the linked parts panel.
As for restarting at one, you'll have to create a new measure number region
each time for that. I recommend getting the one you have now to work first,
then using a plugin like JW Start
Thanks, I will keep working with it.

If Finale didn't take over the entire Window, I could see instructions and
help menus while also seeing (in Finale) at what is being described, but it
only wants to exist in full screen or minimized or multiple Finale Windows.

Hey Robert,
Start New Piece plugin sounds like something I really could use.
I can't find any such plugins on my copy of Finale 2012.
Is this only available on later additions?

It's a free 3rd party plugin from Jari Williamsson. You can download it
here:

And here is a video about it (in German, but it may still be useful):

Thank you, Robert.
Now, is there any way to get Finale to place an already existing chart starting
at the new piece location?
This would be handy for several movements of the same piece. I have already
noted these in separate files.

In Fin12+ there is an option called ScoreMerger that does a decent job.
You'll probably still have to proof it again for errors.

I am using FinMac 2k11c.r1 on a Mac Mini running Mavericks.
Is there a way to prevent Finale from locking my systems? I prefer to have
control over this feature, instead of it having control of me.
Please advise.

To my knowledge, the only time Finale will lock the systems is either by the
keyboard command, CMD-L, or if you physically move a measure to another system
using the old Mass Mover tool, now the Selection tool. Otherwise they stay
unlocked. I know this because there have been many times where
