I think I discovered the problem. It’s when I boot up Finale while I have Digital Performer open. At first I don’t see any of the menus, but if I click on Finale in the Dock the menus show up. I thought Java was the culprit, but I think I was wrong. I still don’t understand why Java 6 is nec

You shouldn't have to install it more than once. Are you doing complete system re-installs or updates? Once it is installed, it is supposed to co-exist peacefully with the latest Java and you shouldn't have to touch it again. Or maybe when you update the NEW Java, it disables Java 6? That would
