The Mac version used to show missing fonts as italicized and grayed out of
it was used by finale but no longer available on the machine. How you get
to see this is by editing the font of one of the missing items and see what
font it takes you to.

I'm not a Mac user, but one thought that comes to mind is to highlight
that box and then in the text menu change the font to one that you know
that you have. I don't know whether that will fix the problem but it's
what I would try first.
The next thing would be to run a data check -- under

I'm on FinMac2004c. Just upgraded to a Mac Mini G4
1Ghz from a Power Mac G4 733Mhz.
After transferring files and applications

Also, which folder did you put the fonts into? Sometimes Finale
doesn't like it if there are duplicate fonts
