On the Finale Forum, there is a sticky on the Mac side called Font Problem on
OSX. It may very well be caused by having two different version of the same
font name active at once. Follow the directions in the sticky, and write back
if the problem persists.

Maybe I have mis-understood, if your desktop is also a MAC, then yes, you can
use the MacBook fonts to replace them.
