It's not working as you described. Shall I presume by playback
volume you mean key velocity? I did not see a playback volume.
And by invisible you meant hidden?
Since I already had a 2nd x only expression I edited its playback
characteristic to be velocity and set the value to
Is this staff sharing the same instrument with another staff? If so,
then that would explain why you can't get it to work right. Define a
new instrument and channel for that staff, use the same patch as the
other staff, and it should work as you wish.
I actually did mean volume -- it's a
Playback question. Consider: a 5-measure passage with repeats and
where you want the top staff to sound only on the repeat. Is there any
way in FInale that can be done?

Yes -- define two different expressions, and have them set for playback.

Yeah, ditch the confusing repeat and just write it out again since it's only
5 bars.

Immediate performance with limited rehearsal time available is a very

When I open up a work I've completed in a previous version, e.g. WinFin '06 or
WinFin '07, the midi sounds are different, and are not the same as '08 --
mixer, Garritan, everything. I tried saving the older version as an '08
version before closing and this didn't do any help. So, help!

Thank you for your timely response. Looks very clear to me. I will give it
a go tomorrow and I expect it will work just fine.

help me learn how to create an organ part to an existing arrangement, by
having the organist play his improvisation.
I work with an organist who has a MIDI IN/OUT on the sanctuary organ
in his church. How can I get
