HI: More Finale 2014 issues. I'm starting on a new file (scene). I began
with the Double Bass part, and everything transferred from the score
except one tempo marking. And it won't let me enter that one into the
part, or a new either. When I go do Documents and Edit the part from

Hi, friends! I¹m new to this wonderful list, been using Finale since its
birth, been lurking here on the list for the past week, also have been
flummoxed (infuriated) by Finale 2014 (Mac/Mavericks).
A brief controlled rant, if I may it¹s short, but relevant to so much of

Hi Chuck,
I've found Finale 2014 has problems when the Undo level is set to unlimited or
Allow Undo past save is turned on.

Hi: I got your emails about Finale 2014 - not sure why. But, if possible,
I'd like to ask about a problem I've been having. I'm extracting parts

Paul, almost sounds like your trial has expired. Can you still save the

The undo limit is set to 30, so I will leave that for the moment and uncheck
allow undo past save and see what happens.
You are a font of arcane information!

Paul, can you tell us the EXACT name of the part that won't save? Copy and
paste to preserve all the exact characters. This might give a clue.
I personally am suspecting some sort of stupidity with the way Finale uses
ancient filenaming protocols, but I can't guess unless I know more. I have a

Don Hart nailed it. Finale will write no file with a forward slash in the name,
despite the fact that it CREATES this filename itself.
I suggest using a solidus instead. It looks very much like a forward slash, but
it is not an illegal character that forces Finale to choke. The way to type
Just found it for Mac. Opt-shift-1 gives you a solidus. Change your part names
