This works consistently for me - and you can do it globally withSelect All. At least I have had no problem with this. But if I had a wish list, I'd like a default preference that made this selection work the opposite way - that you'd have to deselect Show selected style in parts, since I'd

It sounds like a procedural problem. You can't have Use Selected Staff Style in Score and Parts *selected* exactly. Try this; in the score view, highlight each staff that has staff styles present (or all staves, shouldn't matter). Now in the Staff Tool Menu or control-click on a highlighted
