[Finale] Stems spanning staves -- lots of them

2014-07-15 Thread Dennis Bathory-Kitsz
Hi all,

I have received a project with some 500 measures of music for multiple
keyboards where the stems span staves like this image:

  http://maltedmedia.com/images/finale/frozen01.jpg

Those are all solid stems (and yes, this photocopy is the best quality that I
have to work with; the actual pencil original from 40 years ago was lost in a
fire).

Is there a method or plugin other than entering notes on one staff and
dragging to the other with the note mover tool?

Because of the ledger lines, the least painful method I can think of is to
enter the notes on the treble staff, change that staff to a bass staff and
enter those notes, then change back and drag.

My usual entry method is Speedy on the computer keyboard.

Thanks,
Dennis

[Finale] Selective Human Playback (Fin2014c)

2014-07-15 Thread Colin Broom
Anyone really familiar with Human Playback functions?
Is it possible to get Finale to not do anything on long notes, but still to
work with hairpins and integrate keyswitches and the like? I thought it would
be just a case of pulling the Auto-Expression Emphasis slider down to 0% (HP
PreferencesDynamics/Volume tab), but even when I pull both this and the
Hairpin pair emphasis down to 0%, I'm getting modulation messages that are
adjusting the volume.
I'd even settle for no automatic dynamic shifting via modulation at all, and
just keeping the keyswitches. Am I missing something? Is this doable?
Cheers,
C.

[Finale] Beaming Groups of Tuplet 16ths

2014-07-15 Thread Patricia Spedden
Does anyone know how to beam two groups of 16th note triplets with an 8th beam
to clearly show two halves of one beat? When I press the slash key, it
automatically beams both sets of triplet 16ths with a continuous 6-note double
beam, and I need to show the rhythm more clearly.

Sincerely,

Patricia Spedden
