It happens to me occasionally too.  Rebooting the PC should set things
right.

[Finale] 2012 vs 2014 speed

This has happened twice. A large file, in this case 2000 measures, 30
instruments, in Windows Finale 2014, became hopelessly slow for nearly
every action. I exported a 2012 file and continued working on it in 2012,
and all the speed problems vanished. Just putting it out there.
