Re: [Finale] Getting Rid of Piano / Pno. Group names on Piano Staves

2016-10-04 Thread Christopher Smith
Make sure you select the ENTIRE staff, by clicking to the left of the clef,
then shift-click to the left of the other clef so both staves are selected in
their entirety.

Select the staves with Staff Tool. In the Staff Menu, select Groups and
Brackets>Edit? and uncheck Show Group Name.

Christopher

Thanks so much for your response, and sorry I didn't mention but yes, I
tried that and it didn't change anything.

I'll try it again just to make sure.

Thanks again,

Mike

Re: [Finale] help with DS al coda

2016-10-04 Thread SN jef chippewa

thanks haroldo and christopher! yeah the passage
is a bit long for 1st (followed by 2md) ending.

thanks for the clarificaiton, true it is redundant with endings AND repeats.

actually i wonder if 1st/2nd aren't best in this
case? because the last quarter of the 1st ending
is identical to the upbeat at the start of the
piece, and both are slurred into the start of the
repeated passage. i.e. i suppose an incomplete
slur at a barline with coda symbol is not normal,
whereas an incomplete slur at an end repeat seems
"normal"?

thanks,
jef

I didn't see any other responses. You're on Finale 2008. Finale would really
choke if you had lots of fonts installed. That's still the case (I'm on
2014.5), and almost as bad (hard to tell as I have a faster computer). It's
like Finale goes through the whole font list every time you type a letter.
