Actually D5 (sounding) is the lowest note on a
modern piccolo, although apparently there were a
few available in Vienna in the late 19th century
with low C5. But no piccolo plays below that.
Not talking sounding, talking written (not score-at-concert pitch). The lowest
note the samples
to play below C above middle C, etc. The notes enter
just fine, but don't play back, neither when entering or in playback mode.
Definitely makes proofreading more complicated. Composers write those notes,
the instruments CAN play them, so why won't the program?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up creating a solution of my own --
making the bars 12/8 with cut-time as the alternate display time signature,
then adding the 6s as articulations. Still not 100% elegant, but it works!

was unchecked in the Speedy Menu, and with that now checked, the accidentals
behave as I expect them to.

Opened Font Book, clicked on Add Fonts, chose the True Type ones, and got this
message from Font Validation: 24 serious errors were found. Do not use
these fonts. (That would be one error for each of the 24 fonts.)

expression, changed the playback setting to eighth = 72. That may
have caused the problem, I suppose, but it would be nice to get it

expressions). When I play the file back to proofread, it's making

My guess (and it's only that) is that for most Mac users it won't be
an issue. I have my Mac's clock set to automatically sync to Apple's
clock server. When it trips over into DST, so will my computer. Or

I've saved a two Finale files (FinMac2k6c) as a Standard Midi File
(with each line as a separate track) and sent him the files, which
have .mid extensions.

Here's an annoying little glitch I've been experiencing (FinMac 2006c
on a PowerBook G4 OS 10.4.6)
Files that I've created in 2006c are opening themselves in 2006b (I
keep earlier versions of the application on my hard drive just in
case I'd have a need for them -- like
