Re: [Finale] Mid-measure double carline?

2019-11-11 Thread Percuszionstudio
My thought would be to create 2 measures in say 2/4 if you’re working in 4/4,
show different time signature, put the type of barline you want and uncheck the
“include in measure numbering” for one of the measures.

But you can fix the measure count in the measure tool by unchecking the
“include in measure numbering” box for one of those measures.

Re: [Finale] Mixed Staff Styles

2019-10-06 Thread Percuszionstudio
Couldn’t you also create more measures? So if the slashes were to be in the
first half of the measure, split the measure into 2, separated by an invisible
barline and exclude the second from the measure count.

If the slashes were in the middle, similar procedure but across 3 measures.

Re: [Finale] Tuplets across barlines

2019-08-14 Thread Percuszionstudio
If measure numbers are not a problem you could create one longer measure,
create your tuplet and then draw a false barline. Or if measure numbers need to
be accurate, do the same but have one longer measure and one shorter measure,
with no barline separating them. Bit messy but I can’t think how else you could
do it.

involves more work. HTH.

Re: [Finale] Standard Percussion Notation for Bucket Drumming

2019-06-12 Thread Percuszionstudio
This of course is the problem with notating for percussion. Nothing is
standard. As a percussionist I’ve given up using the limiting sounds and
notational placements offered by any of the notation programs.

I would suggest notating on a higher part of the stave for higher sounds, maybe
x’s for the stick clicks. And if there are no obvious high/low sounds, make up
your own systems. If you want pass anything by me for further comments I’d be
happy help.

Cheers

Re: [Finale] Exporting Selected Measures as MIDI

I tend to take the easy way (i.e. not necessarily finale PC) and either delete
all other measures and then do a "save as” or I select the measures and do a
copy and paste into a new blank document. And of course the saves are as midi
files.
