Not sure I understand correctly. It is possible to center expressions
between barlines and to make their allignment point center. However, it
is not possible to create multi-line expressions where the lines are
centered in relation. Is this what you want to do?

Right, I want to center-justify multiline text expressions. (As opposed
center-aligning them in some external context, which is easy to see how

This is not supported, apparently, in measure expressions the way that
it is with text

Well, there's the old fashioned way: create the multi-line
expression, and insert spaces or hard-spaces as needed to adjust each
line by hand.
