i am working on a score where the piano is spread across 4 staves, the idea being that no ledger lines are needed and the range and register changes are immediately visible:
treble 15va treble bass bass 15ma BTW, this is a notation issue, i am not interested in arguing why one should or shouldn't use such a system. the problem i have is that in the new score manager, it is impossible to define a piano as anything but a 2-staff instrument. i can delete one staff of the piano and the remaining staff stays defined as a piano. but it seems i can't add a staff to an existing instrument and have it be integrated into the piano instrument; i can only associate an adjacent staff with a predefined instrument by creating a group/bracket (and if i want, set the Device/Sound to piano). the organ is the only instrument in the entire database of instruments with more than 2 staves. so it is possible to create this 3-staff instrument and change the "Name", but the "Instrument" will remain an organ. any solution? or is the blank staff + bracket the only way to do this? _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
