Re: [Finale] Help needed quickly
Thank you to everyone who offered suggestions concerning my problem with a very large file in which my collaborator wanted to move songs among the text pages of script. As I reported at the time I had a deadline of just a few days away. I was able, fortunately, to turn in the score and script with the songs in the order in which I already had them, and that was sufficient for the small grant which I received for the project. Now I am painstakingly moving songs and text pages one by one. None of the solutions suggested really would help a great deal. Making a PDF file and then reordering the pages would work, but would not be a help when it comes time to make parts. Attaching text boxes to measure numbers might help, but I know that the measure numbers will change whenever a song is deleted and moved, so I think I'd be right back where I am now. I am not sure if there is a software solution available, but I really appreciate everyone trying to help. Don’t know if this will be enough to help, but in the text box dialog you can change from “attached to page” to “attached to measure.” It will remove manual positioning, but it will then survive cutting and pasting, and it would be less work than recreating everything as expressions. I agree with the PDF suggestion. In making various versions of larger scores, I've used this way of re-ordering. You can even eliminate page numbers in your Finale score, and place them in Adobe Acrobat (or other PDF creators). Hi Raymond, if I understood your problem correctly: create an expression that has the same text as currently and then use only the expression tool instead of the text tool and assign it to a particular note or measure. [Finale] Help needed quickly
Hi folks, I have a massive project due Thursday, and some big problems with it. I know I probably should have exported this into some other program, but I want to keep be able to keep working on the music. It is a musical with pages of text interspersed between songs. my collaborator wants to move some of the songs, but this means I have to read a sign every page of text. Is there some way to delete pages of music, while at the same time keeping the pages of text relative to the same location? Right now, if I move a song to a later position in the score , the text stays assigned to the same page number, instead of its place in the score. Thanks for any help.
