Thank you, Christopher and David--mission accomplished. I was looking
in that window for those triangles but I guess between the late night
and my pollen allergies I couldn't seem to locate them.

Appreciate you both!

Thanks for pointing that out -- I was fumbling around trying to find a
solution to the problem and didn't notice that the Mute column would
apply to individual layers.

That is the better way than what I suggested.

Also, in the Score Manager, there is a column called Mute. Click that beside
the layer and it will… well, what it says. The advantage of this way is that it
is way easier to get playback to work again than with David’s method.

The only way I could find to do that is very convoluted.

Open Score Manager.
In the second column from the left, labeled NAME, click the triangle to
the left of the staff's instrument. That opens a list showing all the
layers as well as chords and expressions for that staff.
In the Device column for whichever layer you wish to mute, change that
device to NONE and it won't playback.

If there's an easier way to do that, I couldn't find it and I hope
someone will point it out to us.

Hi all,

Where in Finale 25 can one mute a specific layer of a part. Been a
while since I've done this and things have changed.

Thanks,
